Rainbows: Material
Rainbows are tough.
They travel one hundred
and fifty million kilometers,
from the sun to countless droplets.
So precise it aches a little.
Impersonal. The light doesn’t bend for us.
I feel so many things for you.
The ones that belong to me,
the ones where I try to see you,
though I may never know if I do.
And everything in between.
The rainbow. The pride. The flag.
The fag signals, the hungry,
the hopeless, the curses,
and the power we fight for.
I didn’t know feeling held
could feel so good.
I feel so strongly for you
that it presses from the inside out.
So when you held me so tightly,
and I could feel my scars ache a little,
my body fell quiet for a few seconds.
A peace that feels eternal.
